[Ed. Note: original piece was lost, what follows was written retroactively in 2011] While I still think that the film ends a bit too abruptly, there’s no denying that David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin have created an incredibly strong portrait of how business is done in the 21st century.  This is odd because I never would have thought that Sorkin’s passionate writing would be such a perfect match for Fincher’s icy direction, but low and behold, these guys are perfect for each other.  The film may also prove to be the introduction for a number of stars in the making like Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, and Rooney Mara.  Add on top of all this an unconventional yet oddly hypnotizing score by Trent Reznor and you easily have one of the strongest works of the year.
