2016 Fight of the Year Winner

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice

Do not mistake this choice as a suggestion that I’ve softened on this movie, because I haven’t, it’s still one of the worst movies of the year.  However, I do believe in giving credit where its due and this was definitely an action scene worth recognizing.  Batman uses both brains and brawn to take out all these guys and the fight itself feels like its choreography comes straight out of something like The Raid or John Wick.  I’m a long supporter of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, but even I’m willing to admit that none of the comparable fight scenes in his films matched the intensity and craft of this five minutes of gold at the center of what is otherwise one of the biggest disasters of recent memory.
