Gone Girl
Honestly, I don’t love everything about this performance. I think the voice she uses when reading the diary entries is a bit off for example, but the highs here are really highs and I couldn’t really build the enthusiasm for any of the other nominees. To bring this to the screen Pike needed to be very convincing as the victim in the early section of the film and then convincingly transform into the evil manipulator of the film’s second half. Not an easy thing to do, but she pulls it off.
