2013 Best Supporting Actress Winner

Blue is the Warmest Color

Much as her scene partner does, Léa Seydoux has to go through some rather dramatic changes over the course of her performance in Blue is the Warmest Color.  She goes from being a brash student to being a frustrated artist, but neither of these simple descriptors really describe her character.  She never falls into any simple stereotypes and she manages to keep the film’s central relationship interesting.

Next Award: Best Supporting Actor
