2013 Best Soundtrack Winner

American Hustle


At the end of the day, it was the American Hustle soundtrack that was the most jam packed and thematically resonant of all the nominees.  In my previous blub I didn’t even have space to talk about how the film managed to use Duke Ellington’s “Jeep’s Blues” as a love theme for Christian Bale and Amy Adams, or for the film’s playful use of “Live and Let Die,” or how the film used Tom Jones’ “Delilah” for a funny sing-along, or for the way they managed to dig up the Electric Light Orchestra’s “10538 Overture” as a sort of overall theme song.
