Inside Llewyn Davis
Screenwriters who are as consistently amazing as the Coen Brothers are incredibly rare. This latest of their works seems particularly “writerly,” in part because it has an interestingly cyclical structure but mainly because it’s thematically rich and filled with rich ironies. It’s the kind of writing that I think will hold up to close scrutiny and whose intricacies will only become more and more clear over the years.
