2011 Best Adapted Screenplay Winner

A Dangerous Method

Out of this particular crop of nominees, I ultimately felt that A Dangerous Method was the film that managed to be effective on the most levels.  The dialogue and structure were both solid, but I also really liked how it managed to weave such a good yarn while still heavily incorporated the historical facts of its characters.  Additionally I appreciated the film’s rich consideration of the sociological factors involved in the story, namely the way Freud and Spielrein’s Judaism affected their relationship with Jung during the less than tolerant era of the film.
