2010 Best Actor Winner

127 Hours

James Franco is the absolute center of 127 Hours and not just by default, he carries this movie and doesn’t let it down.  Franco sells moments like the “interview” scene and the movie’s cathartic finale, and he also sells the desperation behind Ralston’s final desperate push to free himself.  This is in many ways the part which Franco was born to play and he takes every advantage of his opportunity to play it.
